Sunflower wall light created by the French Maison Baguès well-known for its sophisticated bronze lighting design. This very decorative single wall light is composed of two large crystal sunflowers with chiseled and gilded bronze leaves. The two patined iron branches are joined thanks to a crystal vase framed by chiseled and gilded bronze. Work realized, mid-20th century. European standard electric system. Maison Baguès is a French firm created in 1840, became quickly renowned for its bronze lighting and then worked starting 1920 with other materials such as brass, iron, glass and crystal. They also created more items and furniture such as stair banisters, gates, and accessory tables. Maison Baguès appealed to an elite clientele, was featured in many luxury hotels like Paris's George V and famous monuments like the Chateau de Versailles, and worked for many designers and decorating firms such as Maison Jansen or Armand-Albert Rateau for Jeanne Lanvin's interior townhome in 1928.
